Christmas in November
Yet again William is missing the whole of December (sad face). What makes it even more depressing is that as well as missing Christmas, he also misses Abel’s birthday which is Christmas day too and my birthday. So we decided to have Christmas early just the 4 of us before he jets off to sunny Australia (not jealous at all…).
We were just giving them the stuff we had got them which means they will still have Christmas as normal with the rest of the family and of course Abel’s birthday but it was so amazing getting to see Abel open up all his presents with William there too. It’s weird how much it felt like Christmas too! Abel ate FAR too much chocolate, we sat in our pyjamas most of the day and of course he played with all his new stuff til bedtime. Freida was none the wiser lol.
We have never been an overly materialistic family so we have always got what we think Abel will like but not just buying for the sake of it, quality not quantity for sure.
This year is the first year he has properly been aware of what’s going on and his birthday too. He’s into so much at the moment and we are trying our best to encourage his imagination. We decided to go for a lot of wooden toys this year.
So here’s some pictures from our day with a bit about what we got (excuse the mess and blurry child, he was VERY excited lol)…
One thing Abel had asked for was a dolls house. They have one at his nursery and he loves it. I will admit trying to find one that wasn’t too girly or ugly was a mission. I was so glad we found this one in LIDL, was only about £25 I’m sure and came with figures and furniture too! My parents have got him extra bits for it too which he will get on actual Christmas which I’m sure he will love too.
The tool set and shop till were from B&M and were in their 2 for £20 deal which was down to £16 for black Friday which was handy. He always likes playing shops with his toy kitchen so I thought he would like the till (he does especially the microphone lol…) and of course he loves to tool set!
We only got Freida one thing because let’s face it, she doesn’t have a clue what is going on! It’s tough too as we still have so much from Abel and Nora that we struggled to think of something for her that wouldn’t just be for the sake of buying something. We got her this walker from Jojo Maman Bébé which was about £40 but it is a lot nicer than the cheaper ones we had considered. Think there will be a fair few teeth marks on the blocks soon!
We got Abel’s little slippers from B&M too, sure they were £2.99, bargain! Wish I got him a few pairs, they are soft with grips on the bottom.
One thing Abel loves just now is My Little Pony, he watches it all the time and knows most of their names it’s so cute. We got him some chocolates and this busy book with all the characters which he was really happy with. We have a few of these books and they are only £4.99 I’m sure.
We were really lucky to be sent out this Megaball Runner from SmartMax, as soon as I seen it I knew Abel would love it. He loves building stuff and with this being magnetic it was easy for him to use alone. This set is quite big, it has 71 pieces and you can build whatever you want but the main idea is to create structures where you can put the balls down the slide and tubes. Abel played with this most of the day and I don’t see it getting old anytime soon! This set in particular retails at £79.99 which I think is great for the amount you get especially compared to other construction toys. We will need to get some more I think so he can expand his builds!
I’m even more excited for actual Christmas now even though William won’t be here, as cheesy as it sounds seeing Abel so excited was beyond words. Also I CANNOT WAIT for Christmas dinner, we didn’t go that far at the weekend lol. I’ve linked some of the stuff we got below in case you want more info and I apologise for being so festive in November! Megan x
