gertie the good goose
Teething. This is a swear word in the world of parenting. It gives me goose bumps. It can turn your adorable, happy, content baby into the devil itself. Just as you begin to think you have things all worked out, it’s over there, laughing at you….
Nora actually started teething pretty early, she first showed signs of teething at about 3 or 4 weeks so we were caught a bit off guard! We’ve tried multiple things, some of which work, some that don’t. I think a lot of it is really trial and error! By around 6 or 7 months she had 8 teeth and is currently cutting what I think is some back teeth! So yeah, bright red cheeks and full on screaming over here on a daily basis!
Recently we have relied on Gertie. Made from 100% natural rubber (BPA, Phthalate and PVC free) this teething toy, with her funky appearance, makes a great toy for Nora as well as a teether! Shaped perfectly for little hands her beak, feet and tail feathers are perfect for nibbling on. Being 100% natural it sits well with me that Nora will chomp away at her for as long as she wants. She also makes an amusing squeak when squeezed much to Nora’s delight!
Whilst sometimes we still need the usual medicine or teething powders, with Gertie, Nora can use her as much as she likes. None of the ‘up to three times a day’ or counting down til the next dose, its relief as and when she needs it.
So yeah, if you are losing the will with teething, I’d give Gertie a go!
