barburrito [edinburgh]

barburrito [edinburgh]

If you follow me on instagram you may have spotted a couple of weeks ago I was was at a burrito making lesson, intrigued? So was I to be honest, I love a burrito as much as the next person but have never attempted to make one! I was very kindly invited to try out one of the new Barburrito restaurants that have opened in Edinburgh along with being shown how to properly make a burrito… safe to say I had fun!

Barburrito first opened in 2005 (as clearly stated above) in Manchester and they have gradually popped up all over the UK much to our delight! As well as burritos they also offer burrito bowls, tacos, nachos and CHURROS! They do smaller kids options too which I was pretty impressed with, when we got to try all of the different fillings [below] I was pretty sure Abel would enjoy most of them!

I did make the comment that this should just be on the menu, basically everything you could order on one plate! I liked how they had spicy versions of things like the beans and salsa, I like spicy food but not too much. I went for the chicken, regular beans, rice, onions/peppers, slaw, guacamole and chipotle salsa – it was AMAZING! I didn’t manage to finish it, it was huge but it was so good and mainly veggies so no guilt afterwards!!

As I mentioned I got shown how to make a proper burrito, definitely not as easy as it looks but I managed – not sure I would get a job haha the guys were so fast, it took me so long to work out what was what again!

So yeah, all in all it was really good! Great tasting fresh food, lovely staff, good atmosphere, family friendly and not expensive!! Will definitely be back, Mr’s favourite food is Mexican and they also serve beer so he would be mega happy! Only downside I can think that was mentioned when we were there is that some things cost extra (certain meat/guacamole ect) but with it all being freshly made its understandable that they can’t go wasting precious avocados and steak all the time!

Definitely give it a go if you are a fan of Mexican or fancy trying something new, great alternative to the usual fast food you might consider going to if you are in a rush and with the kids. If you want more information on their menu, ingredients or locations check out their website…
