happy birthday to me

happy birthday to me

Hello beautiful people!!!

So last Monday was my birthday & I thought I’d share with you all what I got up to not that it was anything too exciting but I shall share nonetheless!

This was the first birthday I felt like ‘an adult’, no birthday buzz or excitement, just another day. I can hear you all ‘aww-ing’ for me!

So last Saturday, Jamie treated me to a lovely dinner at Jamie’s Italian in Glasgow to celebrate. As a mother, I don’t get out the house much & if i do, it’s with baby in tow & to nowhere particularly exciting so I was counting down to this for weeks.

I was so looking forward to getting a pair of heels on & a clutch bag rather than my unattractive nappy bag! I settled on a pair of striped culottes from zara which btw, I am OBSESSED with! They are so comfortable & flattering, also a bargain at £20! I very boringly teamed these with a black t-shirt style bodysuit again from Zara which I have bought in just about every colour.. At £7.99 it’s just rude to say no.. And finally the most comfortable heels ever which I have adopted from my sister (soz babes). When I found out I was pregnant I binned all heels & ‘going out clothes’ I owned because obviously life ends after you have a baby, I so regret this now!!

Moving on to my favourite part, the makeup. I had a bad experience with getting my makeup done a few months ago so part of me was a bit reluctant but I was so glad I went for it. I went to Tyler Lawless who works within the Stacey Leigh Spalding Makeup Boutique in Falkirk & this girl is  now my hero. How she hid these mama eyebags I will never know! I owe feeling fabulous for a night to her, so thank you very much!

So off we went to Glasgow, our meal was amazing. We have a gold card so as part of the offer for the month we got £10 off our bill & a starter of olives much to Jamie’s delight & my disgust. As it was my birthday, we also got a free bottle of prosecco, never been so thankful that Jamie hates prosecco. Come to mama. We had italian nachos to share which oh my god, they were so good. We both had a pasta dish as a main & dessert each too! It’s becoming one of my favourite restaurants!

On my actual birthday, I headed out for some lunch with friends which was lovely. We had a nice lunch & catch up then went for a wander round Dunblane. It’s one of my favourite little towns. It always seems to be sunny there! My birthday was finished off with a massive Chinese takeaway at Jamie’s parents. I’m still full now.

So I am now 23, feeling like I should be 43. I had a lovely time celebrating with all my favourite people. Here’s till next year!

Lucy x
